Priyadarshi Amar is a first-year Ph.D. Student in Political Science and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His interest lies at the intersection of political economy and development economics with a focus on South Asia. Since 2016, Priyadarshi has also been working as a research associate for Rikhil Bhavnani on multiple projects examining the role of local institutions in economic development.
Previously, Priyadarshi worked as a research assistant to Sisir Debnath (Indian School of Business) and Rohini Somanathan (Delhi School of Economics). He has an M.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.Sc. in Financial Mathematics from the King's College London, and a B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Delhi.
