Political Science support for the Komack Great People Scholarship

The Department of Political Science encourages you to support the University's Great People Scholarship Initiative.

For Richard Sincere ('75 BA Hist), former Senior VP for Fidelity Investment Advisor Group and current Chairman and CEO of Sincere & Co., a marketing firm serving high-wealth, personal financial advisors, a Great People scholarship solved numerous problems at once. After returning to Madison in the spring of 2009 and reconnecting with his former campus mentor, now Professor Emeritus, Gilead Morahg, Richard wanted to do something good for the University of Wisconsin.  He also wanted to express pride in his alma mater by exposing his elite clientele to some of the intellectual riches of the University. Finally, he wished to honor the memory of his late friend Roy L. Komack, a beloved leader dearly missed within the professional community of personal financial advisors.

Working with the Department of Political Science, which was eager to show its support for the Great People initiative, and the UW Foundation's Stephen Wald, Richard organized and underwrote the fourth annual "Conference on the Future Symposium" in Chicago, highlighting the Roy L. Komack Great People Scholarship Fund. At the event, Political Science professors Ken Goldstein, Melanie Manion, and Jon Pevehouse gave presentations alongside leading lights of the financial world. A former scholarship recipient himself, Richard spoke passionately for the Great People cause and encouraged the audience gathered to join him in supporting the Fund.
