Assistant Professor - International Relations:
The Department of Political Science seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the beginning or advanced Assistant Professor level in International Relations. We encourage applications from all subfields and methodological approaches. We seek a person with a strong publication record or a productive research program with strong publishing potential. Professor - Poverty Studies
The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a position in the area of Poverty Studies, open rank, beginning August, 2008. This position is part of the Chancellor's interdisciplinary cluster initiative in Poverty Studies (www.clusters.wisc.edu/clusters/show/39), designed to foster innovative, outstanding research programs that will stimulate productive interactions among faculty and students interested in poverty studies across the campus and to expand interdisciplinary research in poverty studies. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, cutting-edge, highly visible research program; advise graduate and post-graduate research in the area of poverty studies; develop and maintain extramural funding for their research program; and teach graduate and undergraduate courses or develop new courses in their area of expertise, as appropriate. Faculty hired under this initiative have primary faculty appointments in campus departments or graduate school units participating in fields related to poverty studies, and will be affiliates of the Institute for Research on Poverty. Tenure home for candidates will reside in departments relevant to candidate's area of expertise. Possible tenure homes include: Department of Economics, Department of Sociology, Law School, School of Social Work, Department of Political Science, and La Follette School of Public Affairs. Instruction and research leadership and participation in faculty governance at the department level are expected. University and community service will also be expected as appropriate. Applications must include a CV and a statement describing research interests and accomplishments, as related to the specific descriptions above. Professor - Comparative Political Economy
The University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Letters & Science invites applications for a position in the area of Comparative Political Economy, open rank, beginning August, 2008. This position is part of the Chancellor's interdisciplinary cluster initiative in Comparative Political Economy ( http://www.clusters.wisc.edu/clusters/show/17), which currently includes participating faculty from sociology, economics, political science, and management. Qualified applicants from these or other social science disciplines are encouraged to apply. Tenure home will reside within the department best suited to the applicant's area of interest. Ph.D. is required prior to the start of the appointment. Applicants for a tenured appointment must have demonstrated excellence in research, teaching and service. Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, performing scholarly research, participation in faculty governance activities, and performing University and professional service as appropriate. Faculty - American Indian Studies Program
The American Indian Studies Program (AISP) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for two open rank faculty positions. We are especially interested in hiring someone who works in the field of tribal sovereignty and governance. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct independent research, teach at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional levels; develop new courses; advise students; and participate in the governance of the American Indian Studies Program and their respective department, College, and the University. The candidates’ tenure homes will be established in departments appropriate to their background and qualifications. Appointment to begin August 25, 2008. Ph.D. or its equivalent should be in hand by that date.
